1st question people ask is my bike suitable, well it need to be an off road bike with suitable tyres, and well maintained, all bikes will be checked to see if they are road worthy and if deemed un fit will be refused to be used.

 Yes you can hire bikes we can organise this for you.

People ask what do I need to bring along. Well in Summer cycle shorts and a couple of tops and maybe a water proof jacket, but if its spring or Autumn also cycle trousers and warmer tops and a water proof top

Helmet, Gloves, and Drinking bottle ,(large one or a camel back)

Spare pair of socks and maybe cycle shorts and top you will get wet and dirty depending on the time of year .
 

Spares, Inner tube, puncture outfit , Pump, and small tool kit

Its also a good idea for a small snack as on top of mountain you can get hungry, Also some money for refreshments in case we come across a pub.

When do we ride

Private Groups any time just email or phone up and book a date, let us know what ability your group is and fitness and we will find a route for you.

Open Group Rides operate all year depending on the weather, we still ride when it rains but maybe not as far, but will be open for discussions.

What happens if I have to cancel the booking

Well you need to give us 7 days notice before the date of the ride so we can try to re sell the tour, or we charge the full amount.

What if my bike breaks down

Well the guide will try and help you mend it, and if can't will  arrange for you to be picked up by the recovery vehicle, but this will some times mean a walk to a suitable pick up point.

How do we find you

Well we meet in the Chestnuts Hotel  Car Park,

(Please park in the road as not enough parking in the car park for every one)

How fit do I need to be

Level 1 reasonable fit must be able to ride about 2 hrs

Level 2 Must be able to ride comfortable for 4 hrs

Level 3 Must be able to ride for about 6 hrs at a comfortable speed.

What if it rains

Well you get wet as long as the weather is not extreme we will be riding

Who is responsible for my safety

You are responsible for your own safety .

If you cycle with Lakes Riders You do so in the full knowledge that Lakes Riders will not assess your cycling ability. You are responsible for your own safety and we expect you to participate in the safety of the whole group. Mountain biking is an inherently risky sport and you must be physically fit and have sufficient skill and experience to enable you to participate. Your equipment should be in good working order and you are suitable equipped for a day of reasonable instructions. In the event that you feel any route is beyond your capability to ride safely you must inform Lake Riders immediately

You must accept that Lakes Riders have the right to prevent you from participating in the ride because your standard of fitness or ability is inadequate or your conduct may present a danger to others. Lake Riders have no liability to you in these circumstances

All instructions and regulations from staff must be observed.

It is the responsibility of participants to ensure that they have understood all briefing instructions.

It is the responsibility of participants to inform us of any medical conditions or ailments that may affect the well being of themselves and others.

Lake Riders reserves the right to refuse participation to any person who appears under the influence of alcohol or drugs or at the discretion of Lake Riders staff/management for any reason of safety etc.

All Lakes Riders courses are run to the highest possible standards. All participants must recognize that all outdoor pursuits involve a higher than average risk of danger. Participation in activities is on the understanding that participants accept that risk.
